In crafting the visual identity for the "Save Our Saguaros" campaign, my primary focus was on advocating and educating the residents of Southern Arizona, specifically targeting the community in Tucson. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of identifying and eradicating buffelgrass and other invasive grasses to preserve the unique ecosystem of the Sonoran Desert.
Approach
Leveraging the power of visual communication, I illustrated captivating fliers that featured a vibrant desert sunset color palette, creating a visually appealing and engaging aesthetic. To enhance accessibility and readability, a playful font was selected for headlines, injecting an element of fun into the campaign, while a clear and legible font was chosen for the body copy across all collateral. This thoughtful design approach ensured that the campaign's message would effectively reach residents through strategically distributed rack cards in the mail and eye-catching digital advertisements shared online and on social media platforms, fostering a sense of community responsibility and inspiring action against invasive threats to the local environment.
